About iGivingWorld
The initiative was launched in June, 2009 by Jane Siebels, philanthropist and trustee of the John M. Templeton Foundation, board member of a micro finance organization, Accion International, and CEO of the first socially responsible hedge fund complex, Green Cay Asset Management.
iGW is a for-profit business, it is anticipated that this will allow us to leverage the dynamics of business-building to:
- Create efficiencies in operations and future software enhancements
- Nurture an internal structure that encourages quality, excellence, and best-practices
- Reward top philanthropists and philanthropic projects to encourage impact and sustainable change
- Connect with other like-minded philanthropists and foundations

A percentage of our profits will be donated to charities at the annual iGivingWorld Awards.

The site also includes standard features such as calendars, messaging, Roundtable discussions (forums), project diaries (blogs), and networking. Simplicity, transparency in use, and utility are the watchwords.

Jane Siebels
- President & Founder
Jane Siebels is founder of iGivingWorld, a natural outcome of her long experience
in socially responsible finance and business. Since she founded it in 1997,
her Nassau-based hedge-fund Green Cay Asset Management has been premised on
social responsibility. Her funds, designed only for wealthy private individuals,
embrace emerging markets, technology, and hard assets. All companies considered
for investment by her funds are rigorously screened for social reponsibility,
including their treatment of employees, consumers, and the environment. Previously,
she was a money manager for Sir John Templeton, overseeing $3 billion in investments.
Sir John was a founding investor in Jane's Green Cay Asset Management,
and her mentor.
Greg Demirjian
- CEO
Greg Demirjian is a multimedia creative director and producer who has won national
awards for his film projects and presentations for high-profile clients such
as Nike, Merck, Pfizer and Dimensional Media Associates, a company who specialized
in 3-D holographs. As the founder and publisher of Hampton Jitney Magazine,
a lifestyle publication distributed in New York and the Hamptons, a director
of photography for Abercrombie & Kent's luxury travel segments, producer
for Hamptons Television programming, and Production Manager for the social networking
site, ASMALLWORLD, Greg is a leader in content development and design.
Gareth Thomas - CTO
Gareth Thomas has two decades of technology expertise. Most recently, he was
Director of Product Development at the exclusive social networking website ASMALLWORLD,
during which time he oversaw the challenges of growing the community from 50,000
to more than 350,000 members, including the launch of an on-line magazine and
photo-sharing service, along with the incremental implementation of Web 2.0-based
technologies. Previously, he was Engineering Manager at the Medwell Group, which
built a web-based patient-scheduling and pre-appointment screening application
for over 600 medical clinics. In 1996, he co-founded Mercury Software in California
as a technology consulting group, which included such clients as Hitachi Data
Systems, Toshiba, and Phillips. At the same time he also co-founded Castell
Technology, which developed an innovative enterprise portal technology and partnered
with Northgate Information Systems to deliver this product to clients in Europe.
He has also held senior technical positions at HBOC and First Data Group.
Tegwen Hunt
Tegwen Hunt Hastedt has extensive international sales and equity trading experience within global financial institutions both in her native country Australia and New York where she was a registered representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD). Through her role as Director of Sales and Trading for the Equity Division of the Japanese bank Mizuho and VP, International Sales Trading for HSBC, she has formed unique relationships within the Securities industry and US Corporate clients. Earlier in her career she held management and marketing roles in Tourism and Hospitality. She holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Sydney.
Nan Mooney
Nan Mooney is a journalist and author of three books, including (Not) Keeping Up With Our Parents: The Decline of the Professional Middle Class, I Can’t Believe She Did That: Why Women Betray Other Women at Work and My Racing Heart: The Passionate World of Thoroughbreds and the Track. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Slate, The Daily News, Babble.com, The Seattle Weekly, Alternet Babble, and various other publications. She currently lives in Seattle with her son Leo and far too much rain.
